“Les Chemins Parfumés” have become an essential safeguarding measure, designed to help the general public discover and pass on these ancestral skills.
They embody the very essence of the Pays de Grasse’s age-old heritage, opening the doors to the harvesting, distillation and processing of perfume plants, while revealing the delicate art of olfactory composition.
Flowers have given Grasse, the perfume capital of the world, its letters of nobility.
The town was once adorned both visually and olforially by gardens and fields of jasmine, rose and tuberose blossoms, the three king flowers in the art of perfumery.
Today, these flowers are still cultivated by farmers, and some gardens have been created to preserve this heritage by bringing together all the scents of the Grasse region.
The major perfume houses use these gardens as the raw materials for their fragrances, in recognition of Grasse’s expertise and the quality of its flowers.
