Auribeau-sur-Siagne
Splendid village perched between the Frayère and the Siagne, Auribeau-sur-Siagne reveals to the visitor its rich historical past, along the winding alleys and squares.
Listed in the inventory of picturesque sites of the Alpes Maritimes, its high rampart houses, its two portals, the Soutran and the Soubran, which defended it at the time, its streets in coves or stairs, give Auribeau-sur-Siagne an exceptional cachet.
Founded in the 12th century, the town was abandoned and devastated by the plague and wars at the end of the Middle Ages. In 1497, the lord of the time, who was also bishop of Grasse, called on inhabitants of the Ligurian coast to repopulate him.
From the church square, the view is endless, on the wooded hills of the Siagne, the city of Grasse and its Pre-Alps, the peak of Courmettes and the Valbonne plateau.

Inside, a grandstand occupies the first span.
The Soubran portal
